THE STORY BEHIND IM1313

IM1313 began with a passion to create something we felt was missing.

For years, we believed Sikh inspired media had so much more creative potential. The stories, the philosophy, the emotion, and the beauty deserved to be presented with the same level of care and imagination seen in the very best of mainstream storytelling.

That became our driving force.

Not simply to make content, but to create experiences people could genuinely feel connected to.

Everything we have created has come from love, passion, and seva. As a nonprofit organisation, every project has been built through belief, sacrifice, countless hours of work, and the grace of Vaheguru.

In 2018, IM1313 released My Best Friend, a Sikh children’s and family album created to make Sikhi feel joyful, engaging, and memorable for a new generation.

The response completely changed our journey.

The album reached number one on the iTunes World Album chart, while The Gurus Song Lullaby animation grew into a worldwide success, reaching over 12 million views online and connecting with families across the globe.

What inspired us most was seeing how deeply children connected with the work.

Families would message us saying their children were singing the songs every day, learning the Gurus’ names, learning the Gurmantra, and building a connection with Sikhi through music, storytelling, and animation.

From there, the world of IM1313 began to grow.

The Khalsa Family books, BBC features, immersive music projects, and animated experiences like Puta Mata Ki Asees all became part of a much bigger creative journey.

Puta Mata Ki Asees marked our first major step into cinematic 3D storytelling, creating an immersive experience inspired by the atmosphere and spiritual beauty of Sri Harmandir Sahib in a way rarely explored through Sikh inspired animation.

For us, this has always been about more than entertainment alone.

It is also about representation.

For decades, Sikh characters and stories have rarely been seen in mainstream family entertainment in ways that feel meaningful, relatable, and universal.

At a time where misunderstanding and division continue to grow around the world, storytelling has the power to create understanding and connection between people from different backgrounds.

Today, IM1313 continues to grow through books, music, animation, immersive media, and our most ambitious chapter yet, TEAM LANTERN.
